Moving Tips
1So you’re moving home… it’s all positive, a new start! So why not use the opportunity to have a good clean out and do that long avoided de-clutter. The less of the clutter you take with you means the less you have to unpack when you arrive in your new house.
2Start packing early and try not to over fill boxes. That way they will pack in the van better and be easier to lift!
3Make sure the essentials you will need when you arrive at your new home are packed last. No one wants to be playing pick a box when you are tired.
4Clearly mark all the boxes room by room. That way any helpful hands you draft in will have a location to stack each box.
5Boxes with glass or fragile items should be clearly marked FRAGILE.
6You can never have enough Bubble Wrap, and don’t forget the Packing Tape.
7If you have to pack liquid containers, ensure they are tightly closed and standing upright.
8If you are taking the Fridge Freezer with you, unplug it and leave it resting for a while, so the gas to settle. And always keep it as upright as possible when moving it.
9Don’t lift heavy boxes or furniture on your own.
